Engineering guide

Define a useful automation project brief

Give an automation partner the context needed to assess your process and propose a clear scope.

01

Describe the current process

Explain the sequence, the equipment involved and the work performed by operators. Photos, a layout and a short process description often clarify more than a target cycle time alone.

02

Define the product range

List dimensions, weight, material variation and handling restrictions. Include the formats you need today and any future formats that should influence the concept.

03

Explain the intended improvement

Describe the problem to solve: output, quality, handling, maintenance, labour content or a new product requirement. State how you expect to evaluate the result.

04

Make the constraints visible

Available space, utilities, budget parameters, production windows and internal approval requirements all shape the approach. Identifying them early helps avoid a concept that cannot be implemented at the site.

Use this guide to prepare a project conversation. Equipment-specific instructions and site procedures should be established with the responsible technical team.
