Conveyors & product handling

Good product handling is more than moving material from one point to another. We help develop and refine conveyor interfaces, guides and handling arrangements so that products arrive at each process in the required position and condition.

SCOPE OF SUPPORT

A smoother path through production.

01

Start with the product

Dimensions, weight, surface condition, stability and variation affect handling. We review how products enter, travel through and leave a transfer, including the behaviour of the smallest and largest agreed formats.

02

Coordinate flow and presentation

Conveyor speed, pitch, accumulation, guides, sensors and machine timing are considered together. Particular attention goes to transfer gaps, changes in elevation, fragile surfaces and the space needed for adjustment and cleaning.

03

Test the transitions

Trials focus on the points where product control changes: entry guides, transfer plates, stops, turners, feeders and downstream handoff. Findings are used to refine settings and identify any mechanical modifications required.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Clear work. Useful outputs.

The final deliverables are agreed in the project scope. Depending on the assignment, they can include:

  • Product handling requirements and interface review
  • Recommendations for guides, transfers or conveyor changes
  • Settings and changeover considerations
  • Trial results and follow-up actions
BEFORE WE BEGIN

A useful starting point.

These details help us understand the application and plan the next conversation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Good questions to ask.

Can you improve a conveyor already in service?

Yes. We can assess the existing arrangement and scope adjustments or modifications based on the observed handling problem.

Will you test all product formats?

The validation matrix is agreed in advance. Representative formats and difficult operating conditions should be included where samples and production access are available.
