Maintenance guide

Make a maintenance shutdown count

A practical way to organize the work, parts and restart checks before a planned shutdown.

01

Prioritize the equipment

Start with recurring failures, observed wear and manufacturer maintenance requirements. Separate work that must be completed during the shutdown from items that can be prepared in advance.

02

Check the dependencies

Confirm parts, tools, drawings, access and the appropriate technical resources. Identify activities that depend on another task being finished, and assign a person to coordinate the sequence.

03

Leave time for verification

Repair work is only part of the shutdown. Include the checks and functional trials needed to establish that the equipment can return to the agreed operating condition.

04

Preserve the findings

Record replaced parts, adjustments, observations and outstanding concerns. These records help refine the next maintenance plan and identify repeat problems that need a broader engineering review.

Use this guide to prepare a project conversation. Equipment-specific instructions and site procedures should be established with the responsible technical team.
